Starting well means progressing quickly
Pickleball is known for being accessible: within an hour, you're already rallying. Here are five tips to start off on the right foot and have even more fun.
1. Start with the right equipment
No need to invest in the most technical model: a light and forgiving paddle is more than enough. Our beginner sets (two paddles, balls, and a bag) allow you to play as a pair without any hassle.
2. Learn the "dink"
The dink is that soft little shot that drops the ball into the opponent's non-volley zone. It is the signature shot of pickleball: master it, and you will win most of your rallies against other beginners.
3. Stay behind the non-volley zone line
After your serve or return, move up to the non-volley zone line and stay there. It is the strongest position: you cover the court and can attack high balls.
4. Choose the right balls
Indoor balls are lighter and quieter, perfect for the gym. Outdoor balls are more rigid and wind-resistant. Playing with the right ball really changes the quality of the game: discover our indoor balls and our outdoor balls.
5. Simply play
Pickleball is learned by playing. Find a partner at your level, play short matches, and work on one shot at a time. Progress is fast, which is what makes this sport so addictive.
