How to maintain your pickleball paddle

Nettoyage d'une raquette de pickleball en carbone

A well-maintained paddle lasts longer

A pickleball paddle has no strings to replace, but its hitting surface deserves a minimum of attention. Here is how to keep it performing season after season.

1. Clean the surface regularly

Dust and residue accumulate on the surface, especially on carbon models: the ball grips less effectively and spin decreases. Regular use of a suitable cleaning eraser restores the surface's original grip. Take a look at our carbon paddle cleaning eraser.

2. Monitor the overgrip

The grip wears out, slips, and absorbs less sweat over time. As soon as it becomes smooth or starts to peel, replace it: a new overgrip is inexpensive and completely changes the feel of the handle. See our overgrips.

3. Protect it during transport

Impacts against a bag or car trunk damage the edge and the surface. A protective cover or paddle bag prevents most everyday accidents.

4. Avoid extreme heat

Do not leave your paddle in direct sunlight or in a car during the summer: heat can deform the core and cause the surface layers to peel. Store it in the shade, in a dry place.

5. Inspect it from time to time

Check the edge (impacts leave marks) and the general condition of the surface. A well-maintained paddle keeps its playing qualities much longer — and when the time comes to upgrade to a better model, our intermediate selection awaits you.
